- 12:56 @LindseySchaal TWSS! Sorry, couldn't resist, of course. #

- 23:04 @cjsec If only Tribbles were carried aboard starships. That would show those Klingons! Or something. #
- 23:06 @rachelstyle You make an excellent point. The only reason I saw someone #followfriday me is because of TweetDeck. Clearly, I <3 it now! #

Tony Bennett - Fly Me to The Moon
Collective Soul - Heavy
Nelly Furtado - Powerless (Say What You Want)
Green Day - Basket Case
Nicki French - Total Eclipse of the Heart
Modest Mouse - The World at Large
Violent Femmes - Kiss Off
Yes, I listen to Tony Bennett. Sometimes.
My first memory of Collective Soul's Heavy was not from airplay or a burnt CD someone may have shared with me. Nope, not at all. I remember it clearly as the song from a level of Action Quake 2 that a bunch of building, a park or two and (of all things) a half-pipe. You could actually run up and down the vert, get air and machine gun duel with whomever you were playing with at the time. More so, the amount of laughter any of us would get into whenever said duels would take place was indescribable. Quite a few stomach muscles were sore during those times. It's fun, really. Won't you?
I have to say, I am more a fan of "old" Nelly Furtado. You know, when she sang I'm Like a Bird. I don't really care for that song, though.
Did I ever tell you about the time I missed a Green Day show just before they broke because I was feeling particularly lazy one day? My wife was quite excited to go to it, too but I couldn't be bothered. Oh, well, I just told you about it. Plus, I FAIL at life, so there.
Not quite sure how this version of Total Eclipse of the Heart got onto my playlist, but it's there. It, obviously, is making me want to get a hold of Footloose and watch it. Maybe dance, too. Yes, I know that song wasn't on it, Holding Out For a Hero by Bonnie Tyler was. It's close enough of a connection for me.
Modest Mouse always reminds me of Talking Heads. That's all I have to say 'bout that.
Now, Violent Femmes actually triggered a Clarissa Explains It All flashback for me. Wasn't there an episode where she'd defending her decision to listen to Violent Femmes to her parents? I believe her argument consisted that the Violent Femmes were neither violent nor femmes. Something like that, you'll have to refresh my memory if that's not correct. Yes, I do ♥ Melissa Joan Hart, if you were curious.

The mark of a great film?
At one time in my life, I used to borrow movies overnight from the video store I worked at. If I put the movie in and I stayed awake much too late to finish it, I figured there was something--anything--in it that was good enough to keep my attention.
As I sat at home with Abby (who was sick for part of the day), I saw that TiVo had recorded Say Anything. Even today, I just sit and wish I could be Lloyd Dobler. Alas, I am NO Dobler in any way at all. But as I watched a few scenes from it, I began to think about how, even at the end (an ending that I've seen so many times I have lost count), I wish it wouldn't stop. I want to see what happens with Diane and Lloyd.
Now, don't misunderstand me, I obviously could never see a sequel to this--nor should one be made. I just love it so much I don't want to see it end, you know?
What films are like this for you?

The Police - Synchronicity II
Stevie Wonder - We Can Work It Out
Black Flag - Jealous Again
Tori Amos - Virginia
Hall & Oates - Did It In a Minute
Jamiroquai - Canned Heat
R.E.M. - Just a Touch
Somewhere, my poor vinyl copy of The Police's Synchronicity is gathering dust. I wish someone else is getting some sort of enjoyment out of it, but the reality of it is that it's either in my mother's storage area (affectionately renamed the Cave) or in a landfill. The latter option would sadden me, though.
My music player seems to have a bit of a sense of humor throwing Stevie Wonder and Jamiroquai into my Friday Seven.
Somewhere, Henry Rollins (and probably Greg Ginn) is probably twitching since his music is being played and then followed by Hall & Oates. I do, however, want to listen to Method of Modern Love now. I have had the most difficult time locating Black Flag's live Who's Got the 101/2? on CD. I was close once, but didn't buy it. My stepfather always said his favorite albums were the live ones, but I disagreed for quite a while. Then I listened the Who's Got the 101/2? and got a bit of what he was saying. Easily one of my favorite live albums while I was in middle/high school.
Lastly, I've mentioned this before, but I'll say it again: I will NEVER forgive myself for not buying the R.E.M. bootleg I found in Blue Note Records YEARS ago. At the time, fifty dollars seemed like a lot of cash to shell out. I was wrong. Yeah, I said it, I was wrong. The newer live release of theirs is okay, but I really wanted that old collection. Bummer.
EDIT - I didn't even mention Tori. Virginia's not one of my favorite songs of hers, or one I even know well. I've lost count how many times I've seen Tori live. At least five or so. Only one time did her show disappoint me, but it may have been that I didn't like the venue. It was at the UCF arena, I think. Sorry about that, UCF.

- 18:55 finds it funny that my coworkers want written/picture proof that I am indeed going to see Confessions of a Shopaholic with my wife tomorrow #
- 18:57 @BookFinder Meh is popular? #
- 19:04 @ecstacy ZOMG, what a great film! I kick myself for not spending $9.00 for the Pi/Requiem for a Dream two pack at FYE. FAIL! #
- 09:55 @ecstacy I can't even put into words how excited I am...I wonder who they'll tour with. #
- 09:56 @gnatty Really? They would move out? Wow...sadness. #
- 09:59 cannot believe he was falling asleep at the keyboard while #Heroes was on last night and that he didn't even get through Medium. Lightweight #
- 10:01 @mrskutcher One IS the loneliest number that you'll ever do. Actually, I always find myself glancing at the clock at 12:34 and 8:08. Odd... #
- 10:03 @wilw Remember: Knowing is half the battle! I always wondered what made up the other half, though. #
- 10:05 @sarahlane Somewhere, someone said Bentley's were a poor man's Rolls. That said, I'd still be glad to take one or two of 'em. Yeah. #
- 20:34 @gnatty When this thing hits 88 miles per hour, you're going to see some serious... #
- 20:39 has really been wanting to listen to Subway to Venus. Venus itself taunts me every night, yet I keep forgetting to queue it up #
- 20:40 @ashleygurbal I think that you can via Twitterholic... #
- 21:37 doesn't find anything wrong with chewing a piece of #Stride for going on four hours. Rachel, on the other hand...hey, it was made for this #
- 21:37 @Mia I'm sure that could be found easily! #
- 21:44 @gnatty Weird, my wife cleaned the back porch while I was working tonight. #
- 21:45 @phdbre Yeah, definitely a hated feeling to be sure. It's no consolation thinking that one is trying to be the better person and all either. #
- 21:53 @ProfTim Say what, say whut? Hey, where should I send you that Paramore stuff--if you're still interested? #
- 21:54 @ifcnews That's similar to one of my fifth graders telling me I'm not cool enough to listen to #Paramore--despite that being sort of true #
- 22:16 is quietly trying to warn #Fergie that there are some crazed soldiers out there, but she just won't listen #
- 23:53 @BrentSpiner It's a Timothy Hutton show on TNT. I hear they know drama. #
- 23:54 @gnatty Football fish? Squid? Yeah I am SO behind! #
- 23:55 is not tired, but going to attempt sleep anyway. 'Night, all! #
- 16:57 is late listening to Paramore for the first time. Not sure what took so long. Not sure what took so long to tweet today. Oh yeah, work #
- 17:03 @gnatty Wow. I am SO out of the loop. I have to play AC:CF sometime! #
- 17:05 @JerryBroughton Richard Cheese has not fully explored the on hold music niche. I might like being on hold if I could listen to him. #
- 17:05 @BeMeaningful I have wonderful memories of a Kindergarten field trip in NYC to watch The Muppet Movie in the theater. It was awesome! #
- 17:07 @utternerd Remember, pants ALWAYS beats no pants. #
- 17:14 @NinjaChad Wow. Talk about DROOL! #
- 17:16 @greggrunberg What, you've never seen free range bologna beasts roaming in their native enviroment? #
- 20:33 @ecstacy IKR?!?!?!?! I've gone into fanboy mode. Sad, really... #
- 20:48 @ProfTim Well, part of me really wants the extra details provided by the Blu-Ray media. I mean being able to see pores counts for a LOT! #
- 20:48 @ProfTim I highly recommend them. Now. After three or four years since their first releases. If you'd like I can hook you up as well. #
- 20:49 @JerryBroughton Yet again, Billboard FAILS by not already having these charts. #
- 20:50 @BeMeaningful Oh, it was! That I can still remember it after thirty years amazes me. #
- 07:32 is up much too early. I had hoped to sleep in a little bit longer, but two alarms were set and then the iHome and clock radio went off, too #
- 07:33 @mlfoley I <3 that movie. So many people in it, so many quotable quotes. Renee Zellweger made a blink and you'll miss it cameo! Dazed FTW! #
- 07:44 @mlfoley O ya, INDEED! #
- 07:57 @mlfoley @wilw seems to be on the list now, though. #
- 07:59 @Gamerette Fry like BACON!! I need to watch Dazed and Confused again. Parker Posey needs to do something again soon! #
- 08:00 is tweeting as my daughter watches on. She was way impressed at the fact that there's a character count feature in it. #
- 13:12 twitpic.com/1e4xr - is SQUEE! about his new (cheap) shoes #
- 18:38 @mlfoley I just added @maddow without a problem. Odd... #
- 18:39 @Gamerette Thank you for this VERY good news! I <3 Parker Posey, much to my wife's disdain. #
- 19:05 has picked up as many Tiny Titans issues as possible. Abby saw an issue and showed interest, so I went to Coliseum of Comics. Yea Comics! #
- 19:10 @LindseySchaal Me too. That song spoke to me on so many levels last summer. Seeing it performed would be amazing. #
- 19:11 @levarburton Awesome! #
- 20:01 @gnatty Which community? Did you get some cool neighbors or items? #
- 21:18 @majornelson Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one. #
- 21:18 @mlfoley I figured I'd have problems following too. #
- 21:47 still doesn't have a Blu-ray player--despite the fact that Napoleon Dynamite is getting the BD treatment. Still not enough motivation. Gosh! #
- 07:55 is waiting for class to begin. For some reason, I'm feeling a bit restless. Sweet tea will probably not help things #
- 16:28 is borrowing a Mac at the Apple store in the Florida Mall for a quick post. Found a pair of Docs for $33.00. Couldn't resist it. Pic later #
- 21:37 just finished eFiling. Woo! Amazingly, it didn't take very long at all and it was painless too. Which service do you use? #
- 21:39 @patricknorton twitpic.com/1ds28 - Really? Really?! The Lego Taj Mahal was only $250.00, I believe. #
- 21:45 @ecstacy I have sleep envy. I don't think I've slept for that long in YEARS! #
- 00:34 @mlfoley Martha Washington was a hip, hip lady! #
- 10:44 twitpic.com/1ct3h - is thinking of all the things left to do #
- 10:44 is wondering what the TAT on TwitPic is. I'm in no hurry, just curious. Now, back to work, and figuring out how to finish it all today #
- 14:10 @ashleygurbal Well, I've had an account for 1.9 years (according to Twitterholic) but have only been really using it for 1/2 that time. You? #
- 14:11 @ashleygurbal I like the brevity and quickness of it. 140 chars is easier for me than an LJ entry, though I miss that too. #
- 15:35 is le tired. But there's no time for a nap, or to launch ze missiles. Perhaps I can find a way to unwind. Some way. ANY way. #
- 15:36 @ashleygurbal Oh wow. Well, I hope you can fight the addiction to it that I have found myself with lately. Why do you like Twitter though? #
- 15:38 @gnatty Me neither! I'm glad I'm not the only one. #
- 15:40 @LindseySchaal Absolutely! I WISH I had an ounce of his talent! #
- 15:41 @mipplet Yes. Go home. I'm going home, you should be allowed to as well. #
- 16:16 sheepishly admits to wanting Guitar Hero: Metallica. Apparently, my iPod echoes the sentiment, queuing up two Metallica songs on shuffle #
- 16:27 @LindseySchaal Oh yeah, definitely! That's a given, no? #
- 16:32 @LindseySchaal I'm partial to Ride the Lightning. I forget how many cassette copies of it I went through. Master of Puppets, too. #
- 16:33 is now consulting with family about the rest of the evening #
- 16:47 thought Fridays were supposed to be happy days. From the howls emanating from my daughters room, this must be...The. Worst. Day. Ever. #
- 17:49 @LindseySchaal Yeah, definitely horrible. Tough shoes for Newstead to try and fill, to be sure. #
- 17:50 @LindseySchaal I still don't buy Liev as Sabretooth. I just hope they got Deadpool right. I was just discussing this last night on Facebook. #
- 19:02 is enjoying my wife's first experience with Engrish. Abby won an odd little RC car as a sales prize and we're trying to troubleshoot it #
- 19:21 @LindseySchaal Hey, reach out and touch faith! #
- 19:21 @ecstacy Well, at least it was conspicuously, right? #
- 19:22 @LindseySchaal Though I don't think he had it as tough as Sammy Hagar and say, Mary Ramsey. #
- 19:23 @LindseySchaal It could be possible that his disfiguration had not yet taken place? Eh, wishful thinking, but I'm still hoping for the best #
- 21:57 @warrenellis Hm. I'm just a very vanilla reader who tweets a lot. #
- 22:39 has found a new way to get to sleep faster: watching In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. Any Uwe Boll movie will do for this #
The Clash - Train in Vain (Stand By Me)
Digable Planets - Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)
Howie Day - More You Understand
Edie Brickell and New Bohemians - What I Am
Aretha Franklin - Bridge Over Troubled Water
Beck - The New Pollution
Bobby McFerrin - Don't Worry Be Happy
A disparate collection of songs, to be sure. Add to that is the fact I really enjoy the majority of these songs is a bonus. I prefer Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water and I'm not that familiar with the Howie Day song--but I REALLY like Collide.
Now, Don't Worry Be Happy falls into a category all by itself. There's something about it that I just loathe, but I. Just. Can't. Stop. Listening.
I felt a bit better about myself when some songs by Descendents and The Smiths queued up. Only a little bit better, though.

- 09:08 @ProfTim The part I saw was fairly entertaining. Shortly after my tweet, Rachel put Fringe on. It was difficult operating a PC with glasses #
- 09:09 @ProfTim So you're saying I had a chance? Oh, only in the movies, though, huh? #
- 09:10 @ecstacy I see what you did there. Sad world. :) LOL #
- 10:30 is coming up on lunch time with no status update yet. Something is definitely wrong with this #
- 11:02 @nebsllim Oh, I'm sure something is wrong with ME. That's a given. #
- 13:09 has been caught by students as being an #Energy Saver. Am now wearing a sticker that shows so--I am a bit crazy about turning lights off #
- 13:18 @tori_vixen I thought that's what one was supposed to do. #
- 13:20 @SatiricPacifist It's okay to give you a Beastie Boys She's Crafty shout out then? #
- 13:20 twitpic.com/1ccry - says see? Energy Saver #
- 13:31 @tori_vixen Whoops. I'm not sure why it ended up backwards. Sorry about causing your brain hurt, too. #
- 13:33 @nebsllim That's just my hair...oh, uh well the text reads: Caught Being an Energy Saver. Yay!!! #
- 13:38 just converted four Win2K PCs from FAT32 @_@ to NTFS, caused some brain hurt and just got my first RT. Today was a good day Ice Cube-style #
- 15:37 is not at all 1337, he just plays at being so. No power leveling or h@><><0rz, but I'm handling a slew of fourth graders pretty well #
- 16:56 is off to work. Be back later, or sooner (depending). This greek-less status update brought to you by the letter E and the number 3 #
- 17:56 twitpic.com/1chqp - is now appearing as Darth Wimpy #
- 19:41 should change Miss Kitty's name to Princess as she looked like the princess and the pea. She was lying on a pile of blankets on the bed #
- 19:42 @ProfTim Say what? I'm not sure I follow, but I'll gladly take your direction. #
- 20:28 is now watching #LOST. Wished I could have stayed up last night to watch it. Also juggling some comment threads all over #Facebook #
- 20:56 doesn't like how quickly time flies whilst watching #LOST. Same thing holds true for The Office. What goes by much too quickly for you? #
- 20:58 @gnatty Sorry. I have to say, our town provided everyone garbage cans because of some automated garbage collection system. #
- 21:07 saw that coming on LOST from a mile (or two) away! Of course, no one will believe me, but I'll say it nonetheless. And now, The Office! #
- 21:39 really hopes X-Men Origins: Wolverine does not turn out like Elektra. I suppose if it does, there is always #Watchmen. Hope springs eternal #
- 22:31 @ashleygurbal Woo hoo for tweets! #
- 22:39 @gnatty OMG. That is just nuts. I'm sorry, that makes no sense at all! #
- 16:44 can't believe he didn't know that Zooey Deschanel and Ben Gibbard are getting married. Always last to know #
- 19:03 @ProfTim You have no idea. Well, it seems that you do. #Zooey would have liked me if she'd given me a chance. I suppose lurking didn't help. #
- 19:05 @gnatty OMG. Geez...did not know about this. #
- 19:10 is catching a few moments of The Age of Innocence. It's been a while since I've watched it #
- 21:21 says R.I.P. Lux Interior #
- 21:32 @mitchenglish My mother-in-law joined a few weeks ago. #
- 21:41 is wondering if Chuck really just referred to the most infamous assassin droid in the galaxy #
- 21:46 is experiencing his weekly "GASP!" moment whilst watching Fringe. Oh, yeah I loathe getting nosebleeds. Always have, but then who likes 'em? #
- 21:51 @ecstacy There should totally be a gathering about this, no? Not to celebrate, but be sad. Following you now, if you don't mind. #
- 21:55 @phdbre Doh! Playing catch up with Fringe right now, but can't wait to switch to LOST! #
- 21:56 @gnatty I still cannot believe about Lux Interior. #
- 22:15 @mlfoley IKR? Geez. I heard about it via @gnatty and then MTV's twitter (of all places). I just can't believe it, man! #
- 22:17 @mlfoley Yeah, definitely. I wasn't a huge fan, but definitely knew of them for quite some time. I haven't quite wrapped my mind around it. #
- 09:26 finds it difficult to select just one #LEN song he likes best. You know LEN, that did Steal My Sunshine. Yes, I own their CD and I LIKE it! #
- 09:38 @nebsllim Still, there's a bittersweet quality about enjoying that song, especially in the context it was presented in Big Love. #
- 09:38 @nebsllim Well, something's up. Did you see Karen looked like she was pregnant? #
- 15:25 @nebsllim Hey, I'll take as little or as much of Rashida as I can and be ECSTATIC about it. Just sayin'...I <3 her mom in Twin Peaks, too #
- 17:02 is surprised that no one in our 'hood has taken us up on our free table and chairs offer. The chair has a friendly sign on it. No takers #
- 21:06 just finished reading a manifesto. I find I just don't read very many manifestos #
- 21:41 is watching Battlestar Galactica and contemplating Open Office 3. Actually, I should just download and install it. #
- 23:12 is heading into regeneration phase--at a reasonable hour, amazingly enough #
- 09:16 is feeling a bit of stress: Fire Marshal visit & quite a bit of work to be done this week. Rachel's got her troop's cookie orders to do too #
- 09:51 @nebsllim Say what? I didn't have a #gamertag? #
- 09:52 @ProfTim IDK. My in-laws got them and we're borrowing theirs. Bob Snyder mentioned something about a Pepsi campaign? Wal-Mart? Sorry :( #
- 09:53 @nebsllim Same here, too dude. Same here. Except I'm not feeling badly, though. #
- 09:59 @SatiricPacifist And six more weeks of winter, eh? :\ #
- 12:56 @nebsllim Is it? Sadly, I don't even have time to play the Wii games I'd like to, let alone games for another system. Gamer status FAIL = me #
- 12:58 @BeMeaningful This is awesome. Being a father of both a boy and girl, I worry that my Abby won't know this. I worry for my 5th graders, too #
- 12:59 @tori_vixen It's weird to see it in its natural state, though. #
- 13:14 @BeMeaningful Abby is seven, Jon is eight. You're absolutely right about both of your points. Wish I could do more for the ones in my school #
- 13:15 @tori_vixen Still, my carnivorous tendencies trump any sort of guilt I might feel. Mostly. Meat! NOM NOM NOM! #
- 13:46 @tori_vixen Too busy carnivorizing. Will reply later! #
- 13:47 @gnatty They're just big turkeys! ;) #
- 14:43 RT @levarburton @brentspiner BEST birthday wishes Brent! - I can't believe he's 50. #
- 14:44 @tori_vixen Stop! I have met my meat quota yet today--uh, that just reads very weird. Anyway.... #
- 14:45 @tori_vixen Sorry, I meant I have NOT met my quota yet today. #
- 14:48 has a simple #math question. Numbers can be squared, then cubed, then what? Or is there not a term for it. I'm searching Google as well #
- 14:51 @BeMeaningful I like this philosophy. I wish I'd thought that way at an earlier age. #
- 14:52 @gnatty I did not know this. Thank you for educating me. #
- 14:53 @gnatty Now I wonder...what raptors would taste like. Probably gamey, huh? #
- 15:01 thanks Bryan for the answer, the term escaped me. I am not down with number power expressions. Oh, biquadratic is what I was looking for #
- 15:12 @BeMeaningful Aw, thank you. Their mom and I <3 of course. I try my best to do as much as I can for my students every day, too. #
- 20:32 @tori_vixen Ah, yes. I exercised my carnivorous tendencies. Mmmm! #
- 20:33 @ProfTim Hey, I now have two pairs of the glasses now. Not sure how that helps you, but just saying. #
- 21:14 cannot WAIT to see Rashida Jones back on The #Office! Time for How I Met Your Mother...great, now I need a killer sign off phrase #
- 22:23 @wilw I couldn't think of any quotes, but was trying to think of way I could get Andie McDowell to love me... #
- 22:25 @ProfTim You're welcome to come over. It's a bit late right now, but still. #
- 22:33 will always <3 Alphaville's Forever Young. Ironically, it makes me feel very old, though. Or it that not irony? Eh, it's late, I'm tired #
