Annual "Art" Shows

Several times a year there are various "art" shows around the county I live in. The thing is that most of these gatherings aren't true "art" shows, but country crafts.
You know what I'm talking about, people have their booths open and are trying to sell their Time Out Kids, or mailboxes decorated with UF Gator colors, yard decorations. . .you get the idea. I've never felt that these things were really art. Lots of people go to these things, and truthfully, I'd rather spend my day being tortured. If there were more of a balance of the types of things displayed, perhaps I wouldn't be so aggravated by it.
Now, I do enjoy the funnel cake, kettle corn, and assorted greasy and unhealthy foods that are usually part of the deal. I don't really think increasing my chances of a coronary is really a good reason to attend. The public school student works displayed are worth taking a look at, but it's still not enough of a draw for me.
I'm probably just being unusually irritable.
Not enough fun Friday links.
