Moodle

I'd never heard of Moodle before a couple of weeks ago.

Our school currently uses Akiva's Webboard software to manage any of our on-line courses. The annual service agreement with them isn't too bad, considering some of their competitors pricing (about $1700 annually for Akiva versus $5000 plus annually for some of the other software out there). There are several things that Webboard does not do and have been requested since implementing Webboard about five years ago. Two of the requests have been on-line testing and grading, and an on-line gradebook. Webboard does neither of these things, and never will. It's just not a true classroom manager program, it's a discussion forum piece of software.

In any case, we've been in the process of researching other possible solutions for on-line classroom management, etc. There have been several different possible solutions: Jones Knowledge, Blackboard, and a few others. Moodle is one of them, and so far it's been pretty good. I've been trying my best to try and break it, but I haven't had too much time on my hands to do so. Anyone else happen to have any experience with Moodle?
