Well, got to the oral surgeon at 8:10 this morning, and was back at home on my couch at 11:00 a.m.

Six teeth in all were pulled (and I'm glad for it, really). The office was absolutely amazing, the waiting area was set up theater style. Really cool, and all the staff were friendly and amazingly nice and helpful. Men's bathroom had no toilet paper, but I reported it and I'm sure that was taken care of.

So far so good, lots of numbness, but no pain so far. My scripts should now be ready and my father-in-law will go pick 'em up shortly.

I took a before pic on Rachel's camera phone. Will take an after pic sometime later this afternoon.

Woo!

Trust me on this one. Get those meds in you LONG before the numbness goes away. I had two doses of my painkillers into me before the numbness had gone out of my mouth. And I am grateful. It made a big difference. The doc reccommended that I take a dose as soon as they were ready. I was given lorcet (vicodin) and since I need to usually take it with some food or something, I had a glass of milk. It wasn't easy drinking, but just a little to cushion your tummy will be better.

Get lots of rest, feel better.

Thanks for the tip! Just picked up the painkillers and antibiotics and popped 'em.

Good good good.

Stay partly propped up, too- don't lay flat down. It will help with swelling.

Thanks!

I have been using the compresses Abby uses whenever she gets a boo boo. One is a Clifford ice pack and one is a smiley face ice pack.

Woo! :)

I love those little ice packs! They are too cute! I saw some the other day while I was shopping and really really want them. But I need larger ice packs most of the time. ;)

I have a towel wrapped around them both and then on each side of my face.

When Abby gets home, I'm sure she'll want to have them for herself. :)

That's good to hear--though it sounds like yours was much more hardcore.

Yours is one of the few experiences that I've heard that has gone well. It's a good thing to hear.

Before going under, I could feel what was going on...didn't like it one bit, and was glad that I was put under.

Funny that you mention that, I have been considering it--and it would have been exceptionally entertaining when I was feeling happy after leaving the surgeon's place.

Thanks for the well wishes.
