While I'd love to see Venom as a Spider-Man villain--this thing looks Photoshopped to me.

oh my lord, yes...sam raimi has said often that doesn't really care for the vemon character much. they recently cast thomas haden church as the "villain" (they arent saying who it is, but signs point to sandman). eddie brock may appear somewhere, though.

I just read a blurb on IMDB about Venom being a villain in 3.

Their source seems dubious, though. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

yeah...imdb is not the best place for any kinda reliable info...but still, i suppose venom COULD be somewhere in spider-man 3...but i wouldnt count on it. i'd like to see him myself...though he'd probably just be a big cgi shot.

they could do a "set up" kind of thing...Eddie Brock was a reporter before he was venom yes? If Sandman is the villian the "issue" between him and Peter/spidey could start now and pick up later.

Eddie Brock has, in fact, been in the movies, though not directly. In the first or the second, I'm not sure which, Sam Raimi's character(forget the name) says to JJJ something about something that "Brock" delivered. I wish I remembered more clearly, I haven't seen the movies for a while. But his name is brought up in the Bugle offices.
