What Were They Thinking?

In the eleventh century people commonly believed that if a couple wanted a boy baby instead of a girl, the wife should grind up the male sexual organs of hares and drink them mixed with wine. No report on what hares did if they wanted boy babies.

I feel for the hares. They must not have wanted to have children that badly because otherwise serious detriment would have been done to the rabbit population.
