There used to be a time when I would have been able to just pop open a bottle of Tabasco, take a swig, and enjoy it. My mom would have Tabasco with everything, rice, eggs, toast. Okay, probably not toast, but she liked her red sauce. Now Paul, my stepfather, he brought home all sorts of stuff. Jerk sauce with a funny warning label, the green Tabasco, when it came out--I've never had it. Whenever he made Caroll Shelby's chili with all the spices thrown in, it was GREAT!
So, today I brought what was left over of my order of Special Fried Rice from China Garden. Because I had no soy sauce, and because I saw a tempting large bottle of Tabasco, I threw some on my rice. Now I'm back from my break, sniffling, and with a numb tongue.
Guess it's been a while since I've tried something spicy.
Since we're talking about food, the California roll and tempura that Rachael Ray was eating while she was in Portland, Oregon looked SOOOOOOO good.
