Faculty and staff are being sent home. There has been no official announcement about it, but communication has been spotty with our Nextels, and I have no land line in my temporary office. Students that were here early are being transported to Bradenton for safety. The fire department has begun mandatory evacuations of mobile homes.

My supervisor has advised me that I can head out to take care of things around my home, however, my office may be needed to get things cleaned up and get the heck out of here.

Hell, I wish I could do more, but my best thoughts to you guys.

And I heard "Easy" by the Commodores on the radio on Monday. I'm praying it's a portent of some kind.
