ELO?

servermonkey: (Goofy Grin)

The beginning of this song started to play, and I looked around thinking someone might have bought a new ringtone. Then when I heard the ringing sound from the receiver, I thought perhaps someone was dialing using their speaker phone.

Yes, we are a little slow from time to time. And yes, now I want to sing with the part below.

Doowop dooby doo doowop doowah doolang
Blue days black nights doowah doolang

Nope, not at all! Have you seen My Life Without Me? Deborah Harry is in it--though the draw for me was Sarah Polley. [sigh] Sarah Polley.

Silly me, I should have provided a link to her (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001631/).

I did not know she had directed anything.

i think he released it just after homosapien... but i could be wrong - i had the album (yay... vinyl :)) with telephone operator on it and only the single of homosapien so my chronology is all messed up...

Would it make you feel better if I told you that I've listened to that song about three times since I posted that entry?

Ah, the ELO one, though Blondie's Hanging on the Telephone is quite good. For some reason, I always think Sleeper does a version of it (Blondie song), but they do Atomic (on Trainspotting soundtrack).

Ah, but not as evil as booting people for having the wrong products? Or just slightly less evil?

Mmmm, your music is better than mine, though Cicero, from The Crying Game just came on. Nah, your listening selection is still better, methinks.

unfortunately i only have about 50 cds with me... it may be a good selection, but they've all been played oh-so-many times.

the psychedelic furs (along with a pixies, smiths, nina hagen with the leipzig big band, and 78-84 post-punk compliation) were only purchased a couple of months ago so it's still getting regular whirls in the cd player :)

Fifty good quality CDs would be just fine. I've thinned out my 200+ CD collection, selling a bunch off, but it's a good thing.

most of mine are in a box in brisbane (australia)... and it will be a joyous reunion when we are reunited :)

i could do a bit of shuffling around with the current 50... there are a few i just don't listen to enough to justify their place as one of the chosen few.... i really should look into getting a mp3 thingy.

Yeah, everyone needs an MP3 player--but you'd get some really good use out of it, I'm sure. It would take some time to convert everything from CD to MP3, but it would be well worth it. One day, one day, I will get an iPod or something comparable.

I have been running both, and while the new one does a couple of things that are nice--I really like "TV" option--I still like Winamp 2.83 a LOT. That's what gets my vote.

that cd was quite a find... everyone needs a copy of nina hagen singing somewhere over the rainbow and let's call the whole thing off with a big band orchestra :)
