Just a small town boy. . .
Have I expressed my gratitude at the large amount of music you all have sent? I say again, thanks!
I had to drag my tired monkey self into work at seven this morning, which means that I was up at quarter to six, to be safe, and not be late for work. Poor Abby will be confused when she gets up in a little bit. I'm currently playing someone's homemade More Monster Ballads CD. I love finding the variety of homemade CDs in this office.
Last night before falling asleep, I watched a few stories about Hurricane Ivan's effect on Pensacola. Rachel and I are so lucky to have been spared the amount of damage that some people have had. I couldn't even imagine what we'd do. Seeing the missing sections of I-10, one of which had a semi trailer that was torn in two, just didn't seem real. There was another story of a family who went to stay with their parents. The storm surge was so great that they eventually had to resort to sitting on their kitchen counters to keep from getting wet. When that got too high, they went out to the van parked outside--which worked until it started to float away. Eventually, these folks went back inside and up into the attic. It was so strange to see search and rescue teams from Miami Dade searching for the dead and missing.
I kept trying to recall if there was anyone I knew that lived in Pensacola, and I thought of two names, one from middle school/high school, and one from college. The number I have for my friend Kim from high school hasn't worked in a few months, and I'm not sure how to get a hold of her. Chasidy, a friend of mine from college, is married and has kids. I've not spoken to her in some nigh ten years.
Hope everyone is as well as possible, and even more importantly, safe.
