I forgot to mention the strangest show that was on Trio late last night. It was called Girls Alone. The premise was taking a group of a dozen girls, put them in a house and letting them be--obviously with crew and producers and family close by to ensure safety, well, I hope anyway. I ended up staying up until one in the morning to see what ended up happening at the end--basically the girls were returned to their parents. While things didn't get to the point where it was like Lord of the Flies, one wonders what things would have been like if the girls had to stay longer than a week in the house. They fed themselves, played a lot, slept very little, and carried on. The group, however, did not clean up after themselves--the house was a wreck after the week, part of me hoped that they at least practiced some good hygiene. That wasn't covered--which was fine by me--but I thought about it.

Parents were able to view their daughters through some CCTV system the producers had rigged up. None of the parents commented on any of the children's behavior. For example, one girl continually kept all the other awake through most of the night. Eventually, it got to the point where all the other girls ostracized the girl--albeit for a very short time, say a few hours or so. Two girls were entirely too homesick and left before the week was up. That would have been me, I think. Maybe. It was funny when one of the younger girls was preparing dinner and told a few of the others not to eat chips and candy, since dinner would be ready soon.

Very strange and I felt odd watching it. Can't say I know what the point was. The-N is doing something similar, but more along the lines of a mini Road Rules/Real World vein, called Boys vs. Girls: Hawaii. My mom would never have let me do a show like that at their age. Heck, my mom only let me spend the night at a friends place maybe once or twice that I can recall. As far as Boys vs. Girls is concerned, I've not watched it. It's not really my thing.

that is some freaky televison in fact that borders on disturbing. Next the rats of NIMH will be staring people and we will watch everything. It is going to be the Talk shows on mute by Incubus video

Yes, it was very odd, like I said. I stayed up to see if they were going to have them kill each other or burn down the house, or something.

Fortunately for all involved, everyone lived.
