Netflix

Yup, so I've gone and done it, I'm going to try Netflix out, and I get a feeling I'm going to like it. I also get a feeling that 500 DVDs in my queue isn't going to be that difficult to set up. I am, however, disappointed that Battle Royale isn't available.

Did I mention that there's a distribution center about an hour away from where I live? I hope that means very quick shipping, which I know they say is already pretty quick.

Jacob, [livejournal.com profile] kettle_leak, uses netflix and it is wonderful. He loves it gets fast shipping times and now that the center is in tampa it is faster than it was for him. There is one for wierd indie films. I cannot recall the name right now however give me some time and I could probably hunt it down. i read it on wired magazine's URL

WIRED: Selection and recommendations for the Sundance-savvy cineast. Speedy mailings. Admirable customer care. Three-dollars-a-disc à la carte option. All indie all the time. Bringing you your favorite indie movies

TIRED: Offers mostly art-house fare, so it's not a great choice for mainstream movie fans.

$20 (monthly), www.cafedvd.com

It's a great service. Although my mom would request these wierd titles and no one would watch them and then they'd sit around for a month before we would realize we should return it. So they ended up paying 20 a month to have random movies just sitting around our house. So we stopped.

Your mom sounds like me kind of movie person. We're going to try it out for free and see what we think, I think my movie queue is up to some 217 movies--but I'm trying to save slots for Rachel picks.

Have I mentioned how much I reallly like your new icon?

Netflix is great! I too have a distribution center super close. I almost, but not quite, always get the movie the day after they send it. And they usually receive my returns the day after I've sent them and get the next movie out the day they receive it. My favorite part is that they have pretty much anything I've looked for which certainly can't be said about Blockbuster nor Hollywood Video.

Have Fun!!!

Cool, man! Thanks for the good info, I can't wait for our first picks.

You're very correct about the availability of titles on Netflix. Blockbuster has some, but there are some that the chains wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole.
