Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time

At the Beginning of the Civil War the leaders of the North so badly misjudged the capabilities and resolve of the Confederates that during the Battle of Bull Run, parties of civilians followed the Union forces into battle so they could enjoy the spectacle of a quick victory. These rubbernecking revelers included congressmen who should have known better, but didn't. They brought along their wives and even brought lunch in baskets. They were quickly disabused of the notion that the Civil War would be a picnic.

Yes. A meme. A memory meme. Baaaa!

Oh my. Even more old pictures

My friend Jon has been getting even more old pictures. I now submit them to you for your viewing pleasure or displeasure (it's a public album, I think so feel free to peruse around).

Me on a hill, with some girls. But not too close. Yes, my pants are pegged.

Gator shorts. I used to LOVE these shorts. No explanation for the hot pink t-shirt though. Call the fashion police!

Lastly, I used to have a MULLET! It's tough to make out, but that's me behind Karen in the T&C Surf Designs clothes. Lord, shoot me now!

Speaking of books. . .

I'm trying to calm myself from my last post.

Did I mention that I picked up three books for $2.25 the other day? What did I pick up, you ask? The Princess Bride, Watership Down, and People of the Lie (those of you that have read The Road Less Traveled should remember that one).
