Popped Culture

When the producers of Toy Story were preparing to make that breakthrough animated film, they asked various manufacturers if they could use their toys in the film. The one toy they couldn't land was GI Joe.

"The company executives didn't want us inspiring kids to blow up GI Joe," explained Andrew Stanton, cocreator of Toy Story. "We tried to point out to them that if boys blew up their GI Joes, they'd have to buy new ones."

Instead, Toy Story used little green army men.

The Director of Admissions asked me this morning if I had any Milli Vanilli MP3s. I figured I did, but did not. Probably for the best.

Now, I find out that our office manager's friend just walked in with her beaten up copy of Milli Vanilli's Girl You Know It's True CD.

How odd. I'm ripping it to MP3 for its kitsch value. I HAVE to.

I just got a coffee sprite! I just got a coffee sprite!

.: doing a celebratory cabbage patch dance :.

It's turned into a full fledged coffee pixie now, and I've named it Lindo. If you can guess why, you rule! If not, that's okay, too. Big ups to Samuel for helping me get the thing.

Long ago while on a visit to Pennsylvania, Rachel and her family took me to Quaker Steak & Lube for a meal. I remember ordering onion rings and having an antenna extended and the onion rings put over the antenna. Weird, but good. Haven't been to a Quaker Steak & Lube in quite some time now, and sure enough, there is one in Florida now.

I think Rachel wants to go. Badly.

Just a moment ago, I could have sworn that a person said that puffed rice was put into the codeine--they actually said puffed rice was put into the coating (of frozen Crunch bars).
