I just watched a bit on News Channel 8 about Polk County. It seems that 90 percent of the county is without power. We are, as I've said quite a bit recently, very fortunate. We were without power for about twelve or so hours. Jeff, Rachel's brother, got the generator going, and we stayed as cool as possible considering. We'd have opened the windows, however, there was still quite a bit of rain coming down, and it wasn't so much falling as blowing sideways.

We've got a full house again. Cast list follows. Jeff, Donna, and their girls Heather and Lindsey are with us again (as is their dachshund Andy). Our niece Nicole is here. Our other guests include students from the college, Kat, Johnathan, Ryan, Jeremy, Fred and Sam.

Last night we played Guillotine, a few games of Magic, and then passed out exhausted sometime between one and two. A couple of the other guys played a bit of X-Men Legends in the other room. I think they stayed up until something like four or five in the morning. They must have just fallen asleep as Jeanne's strength intensified in our area. Rachel woke me, and Abby and Jonothan stayed in the hallway by the bathroom. Abby eventually got restless and joined Kat, Nicole and Samuel in the laundry room. She got tired of that location and came back to the hallway. And then she returned to the laundry room.

Our home seems to have no major damage, but the small section of roof that was down to tar paper is now down to wood, so we definitely have to do something about it.

Right now, I'm watching Blood The Last Vampire with Fred and Sam, but I may not make through all of it, since I'm tired.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours, and hope you are doing as well as possible.
