While my boss has an extreme aversion to spiders, I myself do not. I can't say that I'm a fan, but they have their place. I'd rather have a gecko or some lizard in the house, but spiders keep the other bugs away. If anything, they're definitely welcome on the outer perimeter of our house--well, except the one that kept trying to web over our garage door long ago.

Someone--my boss suspected it was me--put a palm sized fake spider on his desk. He walked in, walked hurriedly out and didn't go back in until he found out who did it. Still don't know, but now the spider's sitting on my desk looking at me.

At least I think it's a fake spider.

It's recently queued up My Bloody Valentine, Operation Ivy, Rush, Primus and playing right now is Iron Maiden's The Trooper.

Where was it that my stepfather took me to see Iron Maiden? I think it was the Sportatorium, way out in the sticks. Ace Frehley, well Frehley's Comet was booed off the stage mercilessly. At one point, I think I remember him saying, "What do you guys want me to do?" to the audience. Probably not the wisest thing for him to have done, really.

It seems that Trio is trying to sneak in some Amish related programming before the debut of UPN's Amish in the City tonight. I sat and watched most of Devil's Playground last night. It was an interesting look at Amish teenagers and the Amish rumspringa tradition, not one that Rachel really cared to watch, but she was so tired that she was asleep shortly after it began. I never would have thought about Amish drug dealers before watching this thing. Odd, to say the least. I also was not aware that there is an Amish community in Sarasota. Also surprising was the statistic at the end that there is a 90% retention rate of kids going back to the Amish faith once they are done with their "running wild." UPN will most likely have tons more Amishploitation.
