My mind must have been prepared for it, though, as I was up at 4:30 a.m. and then again at 5:00 a.m. and again at 5:30 a.m. in time to do a ten minute countdown to my alarm. Probably would have been best to have just gotten up that last time at 5:30.

Last thing I remember clearly were the two episodes of $40 a Day. Rachael Ray went to Savannah and Milwaukee. Rachel and I stopped in Savannah on the way up to visit friends one summer, last summer, I think, but we were just so overwhelmed. We need to travel there with plans made ahead of time. The bed and breakfast that Rachael Ray stayed at provided complimentary breakfast, and tea in the afternoon. And when I write tea, I mean an assortment of desserts and such. Tea typically costs about $12 or $14, so it's a nice deal. Ms. Ray stopped at a place called Mrs. Wilkes Boarding House, where the 93 year old Mrs. Wilkes actually rings a dinner bell, and begins all meals with a restaurant wide prayer. Very surreal.

While she was in Milwaukee, she stopped at a place called Three Brothers. They serve Serbian food--which I'm not at all familiar with. What she ordered looked really good, something called Burek, a meat, spinach and cheese filled phyllo pastry. She couldn't, however, give out the recipe like she typically does, since it was a restaurant secret.

Oh yeah, I also remember a mafia hit on Monk, but that's about it. I was tired and pretty grouchy, for lack of a better term, so I stumbled off to bed.

I did wake up really wanting to see Casa de los Babys, for some odd reason. I mean, I'm not even really a huge John Sayles fan or anything. Maggie Gyllenhaal, Lili Taylor, Daryl Hannah, Marcia Gay Harden yeah they're all right by me--like it matters to them or anyone else.

They "are like a cross between Lego and Lite Brite." Or something like that.
