I've been giving some serious thought to taking up the Lord of the Rings TCG.

Thing is that I really don't think I could just end it with MTGO. Sooner or later one of us would call upon the other, and we'd get mired down in an endless cycle of wanting to get back together for one more game. Having seen the way Decipher has set up some of the pricing options, I somewhat wish Wizards would try using a similar model. If you pay $9.99 a month to be part of the "Fellowship", you get 4 booster packs (let's be honest, you're paying for them, really), as well as promo cards, and every few months event tickets for tournaments, etc. etc.

I've been hovering around the Check Out area for the game, but just haven't finalized any purchases.

The feeling akin to the kid in the candy (or whatever) shop with money burning a hole in his pocket.

If I were an MTG card, my casting cost would most definitely be reduced by B-Movies.

I really don't know why I love them so. You'd think I'd have developed a distaste for them since I grew up watching so many on a minuscule black and white TV that I was grounded from quite a bit in my youth. Miami, when I was still living there, had enough local channels to keep me satiated on the weekends when friends weren't around. No, cable was foreign to me until coming to college--and, in a bit of pseudo-irony, my parents didn't get cable until a semester after I enrolled in college.

Even now, I still get an urge to rent some B movies from time to time. My experience with Teenage Caveman is an example. But there are other movies, some beloved, Night of the Creeps, others loathed, Never Too Young to Die, anyone?

No matter how horrid some have been, I'll still give them a chance.

How sad. But then where else would we get an exchange like this:

Detective Cameron: Well, girls, the good news is your dates are here.
Sorority Sister: What's the bad news?
Detective Cameron: They're dead.

Here's the thing, though. Almost anything will get a chance from me, so I can be forgiven for loving these low budget extravaganzas, no? Almost anything. Thanks Not Coming for prompting me to think on my love of B-movies.
