Too much food
But not enough computer time, and as such, LJ reticence.
Ben and I went over to his house and played a bit of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Magic the Gathering Battlegrounds on the Xbox. Fortunately, we were on the same team in JK:JA, because he owned on MTG: Battlegrounds. It's a completely different video game from any of the other MTG games I've played. In a very small way, it had a bit of the Magic Battlemage game that was made so long ago. No one hardly played that game, and it died a horrible, lonely death.
Battlegrounds is much better than Battlemage graphically, and in its gameplay.
Afterwards, we went to our in-law's house, and picked up our brother-in-law Jeff and went to my office to burn some MP3 CDs--he used to do the Napster thing way back when. Jeff had never seen iTunes in action before I showed it to him, and he'd never seen the Send To CD-RW feature in Windows XP. He's about 600 MP3s richer now.
Apparently, the A/C was not broken, as was reported by one of my co-workers. I should have gotten up and checked it out, because when I looked at the controls, it was apparent that the HEAT was turned on. It was a nice and toasty 80 some degrees in our offices. Horrible.
Dinner was served when we got back, but I've never been too big on Rachel's annual sauer kraut family tradition. They served up tons of keilbasa, kraut, dumplings--a lot of foods that I didn't really eat while growing up. My stepfather uses to cook up a ground beef and sauer kraut mix that we'd stuff into crepes. Those were great! But his sauer kraut wasn't all juicy and stuff.
I wish I knew the real name for his concoction, he used to call 'em "Sneaky Petes", but I've never seen them anywhere else. I think I should introduced that to Abby as an annual tradition.
I'm a little upset at myself, since I forgot to return The Wonder Boys to Blockbuster yesterday. I really wanted to watch it, but never got the chance. I loathe late fees on free rentals. Well, I suppose I'll keep it long enough to watch it, if I can remember to do so.
