Good News

servermonkey: (Server Monkey I)
Some of the information that was originally shared with me about Emma was incorrect. She did not need to be intubated at any time, but she did aspirate a little bit of something into her lungs.

As of last night, she seems to be doing better. Still unsure as to when she'll get to go home, but things are looking better.

Friday Five coming up in a bit.

1. List your five favorite beverages.

  • Water (from our Pur filter)
  • Mountain Dew Code Red
  • Mountain Dew
  • Fat Boy's or Woody's Sweet Tea
  • coffee--as long as there is plenty of Hazelnut flavored creamer around (so I suppose hazelnut creamer is really one of my favorite beverages)

2. List your five favorite websites.

Now, there are a ton of other people's sites that really belong here as well, but these first five came to mind.

3. List your five favorite snack foods.

  • chocolate covered macadamia nuts
  • peanut M&M's
  • cinammon Life cereal
  • grapes
  • bananas--really

4. List your five favorite board and/or card games.

  • If I can't guess what my favorite card game of all time is, I must not have said it enough: Magic the Gathering
  • Guillotine (great game set during the French Revolution--the whole object of the game is to get the most points for beheading the right people, really fun)
  • Zombies! (I've yet to play this, but my affinity for Zombie movies leads me to believe I would greatly enjoy this. a GIS or eBay search should turn something up, I'm sure)
  • Uno--killed so much time during youth group trips. . .sigh
  • Axis & Allies

5. List your five favorite computer and/or game system games.

  • Magic the Gathering makes yet another appearance in the form of Magic Online (curse you Wizards of the Coast!!)
  • Mario Kart (any version would do fine, I'm sure)
  • Half-Life, and its many mods--especially Action Half-Life and Counterstrike
  • Action Quake 2--so many hours were spent shooting co-workers in this game, funny how the level of animosity has increased now that we don't have that game to vent our frustrations with
  • The original Grand Theft Auto, playing with four players was just insane, whether it was in free play or Cannonball Run mode

Whew.

That Friday Five entry was really long--sorry folks.

Rachel just called to let me know that repairs to our van should be $190.00. I couldn't recall if I'd posted about the odd problems our van has been having. It's been hestitant to start--stalling before you could even get it into gear. Idling has been odd. Within the last two days, the Check Engine light came on.

During that time, we'd stopped by whatever auto parts place to have our battery tested. The battery tested fine, but the guy testing it was convinced that our alternator was faulty. A new one would run between $199.00 and $214.00 plus tax. We chose not to buy anything that night, since the van was due for an oil change this morning, and so we figured we'd get it all checked out today.

So, I'm just glad it's cheaper than what we'd thought it'd be, and that I won't have to try and jump in and try to install a new alternator--which my father-in-law would have helped with.

It's Friday, before our Christmas break, I can't seriously be expected to do any "real work", you know?
