No, no, that wasn't depressing at all. I appreciate you sharing about your brother. I think part of my paranoia lies with the first time parent syndrome, you know? Over compensation of sorts.
I also do feel better that someone else could feel something for their pet. The "company" that I'd mentioned in my post were my in-laws, and I just felt like a total moron in front of them. I just didn't know what to do, if anything. I will miss Smokey.
