too long ago, too far apart

after all of the Labor Day brou ha ha (spelling, anyone?), I was still bitter about having to have a two and a half hour meeting at nine in the morning. a Monday morning meeting on a supposed DAY OFF. additionally, it was a bunch of fluff that I could have been absent from. it was almost as infuriating as sitting in a auto dealer's office only to be told that they couldn't work with us. we drove a few minutes south on the same road and my wife and I drove off in a 2000 Kia Sportage.

the car wasn't the first choice on my list, but she's been wanting one for as long as I can remember. by the time that nine o'clock rolled around, I was ready to pass out. she's happy though, and that made me happy as well.
