With the same results as her. Hmmm. Can I cross in front of people's paths and curse them with bad luck then? Well, only the ones that really deserve it.

Since I most likely won't be in the office tomorrow, I suppose I'll have to kill some time with some of these today. Perhaps I can stay up 'til midnight to do the Friday Five.

Beep! Beep! Beep!

So, the nine volt battery in one of the smoke detectors seems to be dying, and as such there was a continually annoying beep throughout the night. No problem, I can sleep through it, in fact it wasn't that annoying after the first hour.

What truly was annoying was the process of the dog jumping into bed, onto our heads, then being shoved off, only to repeat it again upon the next beep.

There's a nine volt battery lying on the kitchen counter waiting for installation.

I was half tempted to test the charge on it, but, with my luck, Abby would see me do it, and then try it herself. The little nine volt jolt would be something of a deterrent, no? Probably not, so I'll just leave it well enough alone.

Data disasters

BBC report on a list of the Top 10 data mishaps. As horrible as I think this would be to anybody, some of the user shared ones are great.

Sometimes, it's nice to know we're not the only ones with really odd problems and users that have unique solutions for them. Yes, I've had a couple of incidents where the person decided to punch the PC. Very helpful, you know.

iTunes for me

So, I'm in the process of waiting on the iTunes installer to download.

I'm curious how my MP3 collection will be affected, and how much more I will want an iPod afterwards. The desire is bad enough already, it can only get worse.
