Beep! Beep! Beep!

So, the nine volt battery in one of the smoke detectors seems to be dying, and as such there was a continually annoying beep throughout the night. No problem, I can sleep through it, in fact it wasn't that annoying after the first hour.

What truly was annoying was the process of the dog jumping into bed, onto our heads, then being shoved off, only to repeat it again upon the next beep.

There's a nine volt battery lying on the kitchen counter waiting for installation.

I was half tempted to test the charge on it, but, with my luck, Abby would see me do it, and then try it herself. The little nine volt jolt would be something of a deterrent, no? Probably not, so I'll just leave it well enough alone.

OMG! There are few things I hate more tha smoke detectors going off! I can't believe that you could sleep thru it!

Well, it wasn't so much the really loud, "Hey, there's a ton of smoke around!" type of beep, just a quieter, battery power low beep.

I've found I can sleep through quite a bit, depending on my level of tiredness.

Heh heh. Mine's been doing that for about 3 weeks now. I guess I should quit being lazy and change the battery, huh?
