Her novel "Find a Stranger, Say Goodbye" is one of my all-time favorite YA books.

I *heart* that woman.

But, then Judy Blume books are banned some placed for dealing with menstruation... God forbid girls be able to know about how to deal with these feelings... and ugh! Some boy might accidentally pick up the book!

I bet that mom in Polk county doesn't believe dinosaures existed, either... they're just tricks from that Devil to make us think the Earth is old!

Menstruation is proof that women are dirty, Allyson, don't you know that?

I am so glad that in recent decades the rediscovery of the Sacred Feminine has been coming back. This is why we have all those Bible Stompers flipping the fuck out - God forbid we overturn a millenia of lies!

well, we women have power when we bleed. I can feel it as it runs through my viens. Amazing. And I do amazing things during that time of month, too... makes me believe in magic.

Women have *always* known this... we're just starting to share it with the men, who freak out because they realize how foolish it was to let us develop this power in secret for so long!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! TOO LATE, FUCKERS! FEAR MY MENSES!

I wouldn't call it power, I'd call it wrath. :-)

I was a big Lowry fan back in the day. The Giver was one of my favorite books, and I think everyone - young and old - should read it.

I've never read the Anastasia series, but in no way has any book by Lowry, IMO, been inappropriate. On the contrary, she's one of the best contemporary YA authors out there.
