MP101

Serious thought is being given to buying Netgear's MP101.

Anyone out there had any experience, good or bad, with it? Or, with any similar products. From the little bit of reading I've done, no one else seems to come close to Netgear as far as pricing for something like this. And since we've used Netgear NICs on our campus for quite some time now, it's a bit of a comfort that the name's familiar.

those things are quite cool and work well. However linksys makes one which I love and it supports more formats whereas the netgear one does not. If you had an old box laying around and a wifi card you could do your own. Or you could get a 40GB mp3 player and share it over the network. But these netgear devices are fun and I know people who use them and have no trouble with them at all. Just lock it down really securely on the network and maybe consider a firmware firewall at least at low settings to help protect it if you are going to do streams, if y ou are not going to do streams screw the firewall.
