People like that sicken me. I can understand having information overload and wanting time out from the reality of it (e.g. I couldn't watch any more news about 9/11 when it first happened, regardless of how upset I was) but people who just do not care disgust me. People are dying.

And you're right, sometimes we need a need a break from certain things, but to just be so blatantly uncaring, especially when someone's sharing something so personal to them. Like I commented a bit earlier, I'm glad I wasn't in the lab at the time.
