Nice

MJ was taking calls from people who haven't done a thing for Valentine's Day. Most of the calls were coming from guys who haven't done a thing for Valentine's.

One call, however, came from a hairdresser in Tampa. Apparently, he books up reservations in January and then proceeds to sell them off for about $200 or $250 each. Obviously, I have no proof of this, but it'd be an easy buck, no?

Later on, MJ mentioned a credit card that holds back reservations for members at different restaurants. Hmmm.

Tax Return

Well, it's in our checking account (by the 11th, as promised), and we've transferred some of it to savings as well.

Good.

Well DUH! Calendar

In 1995, a psychologist studying soccer found that players who headed the ball frequently during games had lower IQs than players who didn't use their heads. Was this issue ever in doubt?

Footnote: I'm trying to remember how much I headed the ball whenever I did play soccer. Uh oh.

All of us under its spell

I've got two mix CDs in the car--well a lot more, but I'm referring to two recent ones I've burned. They're named Female of the Species and Female of the Species II because I couldn't think of what else to name them, and both CDs feature female artists, or groups with female lead singers.

Anyway, on one there's Frente's version of Open Up Your Heart And Let The Sun Shine In from The Flintstones. Abby calls it the heart song. A couple of songs later is Sarah McLachlan's version of The Rainbow Connection. It's a difficult thing to hold back a smile when either song starts to play. My smile grew even bigger when I told Abby that I loved the Rainbow song and Abby responded with, "I lub it too, dadee."

These moments pass far too quickly.

Also, Rusted Root always makes me want to listen to Poi Dog Pondering. Always.
