Home, with the kids

Stayed at home with Abby and Jonothan. He was up on and off during the night, coughing and such. Both Rachel and I were worried that he might be running a temperature, so we chose to keep him at home.

There was a few moments when I figured I could check on the status of the fairly inexpensive AT&T 802.11g card purchased from CompUSA last week. To my surprise, according to the status page, the status was DELIVERED - SIGNED FOR BY F.ront DOOR. That's how it read, too. It was delivered at 8:52 a.m.

I checked the status of it at 9:04 a.m. and sure enough, there it was snuggled up next the one of the walls for warmth.

Abby was probably disappointed in the contents of the box. After opening it up and setting up the right MAC address permissions, it was up and running. Painless, and couldn't have taken more than five minutes--possibly less, as making sure the kids were alright was in there somewhere.

It's a nice thing to sit in the living room with a laptop that we haven't used since starting DSL service a few weeks ago.

Qdoba

Or, "Who decided burritos can only have two ingredients, one of which is always beans?"

While IMing with my brother-in-law [livejournal.com profile] nebsllim, he told me of Qdoba. He likened it to a Mexican Subway. I wasn't quite sure what he meant by that.

Guess some of their staff could be tortilla artists?

Seems like a theme. . .

Many parents unwilling to cut kids loose.

Not nearly the quality of the previous mentioned Twixter article, though.

Hey, I like some Nikes. . .

and I had my own small collection of Airwalks for quite some time, but Corgishoe is ridiculous!

I do miss my Airwalks from time to time, though. I, however, would wear them until they were worn out beyond all recognition. Never was able to get over the ones I never bought--they had a suede lace cover on them, but weren't all suede, like most of my other Airwalks. Can't remember the name of the shoe, though.

Wasn't too into the Vision Street Wears shoes, though.

NOOOO

Kidz Bop 7 DOES NOT have a version of Modest Mouse's Float On on it.

Errrr. . .but it does. . .

Sadly, or perhaps fortunately, there isn't an audio clip one can listen to.

Wrongness. . .

I caught wind of the Tsunami parody song story sometime on Friday, but forgot about it until this monring. The link about has links to listen to said song and information on contacting the radio station where it originated, if one is so inclined.

There is also an online petition for it.

Actually, there's also an anti-Ashlee Simpson petition as well. One has to stand up for something, right?

Yeah.

Ohhh, well sure enough. . .

That IS him. Steve Coogan playing Phileas Fogg, who once played Tony Wilson in 24 Hour Party People.

It only took me an hour or so to place the face.

Sheesh.
