used to have this on my iPod. Heard it on some "lite" station today. Yes, you may judge me on my dubious musical taste.

Yes, my iPod tanked on me this. She and I had a fairly long and VERY good relationship. Clearly, she will be missed immensely. Without further adieu, here's today's Friday Seven. .: sniff :.

Peter Frampton - Baby, I Love Your Way
Sunscreem - Doved Up
Suzanne Vega - Tom's Diner
The Folk Implosion - Natural One
Richard Cheese - Relax
Five for Fighting - Easy Tonight
Mötley Crüe - Time for Change

I had Peter Griffin flashbacks as I listened to this song. Actually, I also remembered Ethan Hawke and Ben Stiller at odds in Reality Bites. Of course, I didn't care for that version nearly as much as Frampton's, but anyway.

Sunscreem's only real hit was Luv U More, which both intrigued me and disturbed me equally. Then I heard the cover of it by RollerGirl and was intrigued and disturbed even more.

I am not sitting in the morning at the diner on the corner. But I sometimes wish I were. Are there any diners left anymore though? Certainly none around the area that I live in.

Le sigh--this song reminds me of a young Chloe Sevigny in Kids. Wow, Rosario Dawson, too. Larry Clark sure knew how to cast people.

Richard Cheese. That's really all I need to type here, isn't it?

Easy Tonight is not at all my favorite song from Five for Fighting. I prefer 100 Years or Superman (It's Not Easy) instead. Just sayin'.

Now, Mötley Crüe is another one of the many artists and things that comprise my extensive list of guilty pleasures. Really, who can resist a glam-metal band that writes a song about world peace and improving the human condition while most likely spending more than some countries' GDP on heavy drugs and alcohol? There's a bit of a tongue-in-cheek sentiment in there somewhere, no?

All right, that's it for this week. Later.

EDIT--Thankfully, I still have Last.fm where I can at least get to my library, sort of.

  • 15:50 is showing off Twitter to someone that's never seen it before. Neat. #
  • 16:14 twitpic.com/2967d - just got this. Yes. I am an MST3K geek! #

  • 22:34 reluctantly admits to filling out a bracket--with no idea of what he was doing at all. It's like a gateway to get me to watch sports. @_@ #
  • 22:36 @ProfTim XIV is only my second set. I also have MST3K: The Movie which riffs on the near classic This Island Earth. I want more though. #

  • 09:29 @iLoveMusicXx They definitely are! Totally underrated and did not get the attention they should have gotten. #

Better late than never. With better being used in the loosest sense of the word. So, here goes...

America - Lonely People
Morrissey - Teenage Dad on his Estate
Tori Amos - Sweet Sangria
Pat Benatar - Heartbreaker
Descendents - Global Probing
The KLF - Church of The KLF
Chantal Kreviazuk - Time

There are times that I prefer the cover of Lonely People as performed by Jars of Clay. Today was one of those times. I do still prefer the original Ventura Highway, Sister Golden Hair and Tin Man.

Haven't forgiven Moz for his cancellation. Still.

Tori Amos has not once canceled a concert. She pwns you Morrissey. PWNS!

Heartbreaker is not my favorite song of hers--Love is a Battlefield is. Part of its charm is the video. Choreographed dancing FTW!

This is one Descendents song that I don't recall listening to before. <3 shuffle.

Whatever happened to The KLF a.k.a. The Justified Ancients of MuMu? This was a fairly decent CD, too.

I can never pronounced Chantal's last name correctly, so she and I are on a first name basis now. Well, at least on my end we are.
