Yay. Work.

Rachel, Abby, and her grandpa and grandma are driving up to Jacksonville to see Stacey, Dean, Emma, and Allison for the weekend. I'm working all weekend, so it'll be quiet at home.

Much TOO quiet, really.

I suppose I'll make a date with Ichi the Killer (Koroshiya I), since I noticed that Blockbuser now has it, and I know Rachel won't watch it. We'll see.

Part of me is considering working a bit extra, just for a bit of extra money. Problem with that is Cheyenne will need to go out long before I get home if I do that. So, guess I'll just not worry about any extra money. Maybe I'll try to leave a half an hour earlier, if I can get away with it.

ah, i just saw ichi the killer the other day! japanese flicks certainly are graphic! you like(d) it, i'm supposing?

Not yet, but I think I will definitely rent it this evening. . .yay, Japanese flicks! :)

i've seen battle royale, ringu, and ju-on: the grudge (as well as ichi of course). and all of those made me feel really uneasy! but it's that GOOD kinda uneasy. have you seen any other j-horror movies?

[identity profile] servermonkey.livejournal.com 2003-12-27 10:07 am (UTC)(link)
Not really, since Lake Wales is a very backwards little town.

Battle Royale, and Ringu have been on my list of movies to watch for some time now. I know Blockbuster here has Ringu, so maybe I'll get that one tonight as well. Thanks for the others, I will have to look out for them as well.

Have you seen Audition, or any of the Guinea Pig series? Audition is by Miike as well (I believe). The Guinea Pig series, from what I've read, and the stills I've seen, is absolutely gruesome. One day, I'll have to move to a larger metropolitan area so I can find some of these obscure movies.

my sister saw audition and she raved about it! i've wanted to see it ever since, but i've never taken the time to find it. i'm lucky because living in the t-dot gives me access to "suspect video" a great video store with all these obscure and cult movies. if you ever come to toronto, be sure to check it out. i haven't seen the guinea pig series, either, but i think i can take a hint from the title!

What a great name for a video store!

Guinea Pig is just vicious. IMDB has some info on it. The series name is really misleading, my mind was thinking Faces of Death oddities--it was much worse.

i wonder why we are so intrigued by such gruesome imagry...

I'm not sure what it is, this attraction to a "taboo", or something. I'm not as much as I used to be, but every once in a while I'll get a hankering for it.

When I was growing up, my mom pretty much let me watch about anything I wanted to. There were a lot of things I watched that I probably should not have.

i remembering seeing a few things when i was younger, things i probably shouldn't have, that still haunt me to this day. images can be very powerful. i guess i'm intrigued with this stuff because it's a side of myself i never have, or likely will express. or i'm just morbid.
