I was reading about Ultimate X-men on Wiki the other day, and it seems as if Warlock was changed around a bit in that continuity. I could have been in a comics stupor, though.

Well, I remember Warlock got into a big fight with his dad and was annihilated, but waaaaaay the heck back in the late 80s Doug (Cypher) got infected with the Transmode virus (before HE died) and was apparently fused with Warlock's personality once that went rampant over his corpse. Then later I heard it was all a big ruse, that it was actually Doug's personality missing Warlock because they were such close friends.
